Akash Singh, an inhabitant of Pragati Vihar, New Delhi was arrested on Tuesday because he planned his kidnapping to get cash from his family to buy a car.
Akash Singh, a 20-year-old man has been held captive by the Police of Ghaziabad for the supposedly faked getting abducted to ask for ransom from his own family to get a car. As reported by the Police, Akash Singh along with his two pals plotted his fake abduction to get money from his household. As per the plan, he even booked a room in a hotel of Noida where he recited the entire conspiracy and even made a few threat calls to ask for ransom. Akash left his house on Monday morning at around 8 am by informing his mother that he would return soon. Akash’s mother named Kiran Singh filed a police complaint in which she stated that “I kept waiting for him but he did not return till late evening and even searched for him, but could not find him. At around 11 pm on Monday, we received a call from an unknown person who said my son was with him and demanded Rs 2 lakh in ransom. He threatened to kill my son if I revealed the knowledge to anyone.”
Later on, Akash’s parents went down to the Police station to report a complaint. The number used by the caller was the same, as the four calls made to Akash’s family till Tuesday afternoon. By the usage of electronic oversight, the Police targeted the hotel in Noida sector-22 and put an end to the planning. As per the Police reports, Akash only studied till his 8th standard. He and his two accomplices Ankit Kumar and Karan Kumar were involved in the planning of his fake abduction. Akash and Ankit were both arrested by the Ghaziabad Police and Karan fled away. The Police are in search of him to hold him captive. The circle officer of Indirapuram, Anshu Jain asserted that “The prime suspect had been putting pressure on his family for a car. He got a motorcycle that belonged to his elder brother, but he wasn’t satisfied and planned the plot”.
