A True Statesman: Bollywood stars mourn the demise of former President Pranab Mukherjee

Former President of India and veteran Indian National Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee passed away on 31 August 2020, Monday, at the age of 84.
Abhijit Mukherjee, son of Pranab Mukherjee, announced his father’s demise on Twitter. Sir Pranab Mukherjee had been tested positive for COVID-19. He had undergone an ‘emergency life-saving surgery for a brain clot’. He remained in a critical situation after the surgery and was put on a ventilator support system.
Condolences poured in from Bollywood, some celebrities recalling the meeting with him on their personal twitter handle.
Ajay Devgan showed condolences to the family on his account.
Riteish Deshmukh took to Twitter to share his words with a picture with Pranab Mukherjee.
Taapsee Pannu recalled having watched Pink in his presence.
Lata Mangeshkar, Randeep Hooda, Koena Mitra and other celebrities also paid their tributes.
