The very well known BBC series Sherlock starring Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock, Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson, Mark Gatiss as Mycroft Holmes, Louis Brealey as Molly Hooper, and Andrew Scott as James Moriarty aired on 25 July 2010.
The series has had 4 seasons since 2010. The last season of the series was in 2017 and no clue of their comeback has been seen or predicted as of yet. This series has been known for the long gaps between the seasons. There can be no confirmation on the comeback of the series since the ending shut all mysteries and there was nothing that was left unsolved or unsaid.
The ending showed that after all the struggles, hurdles, and loss, Sherlock Holmes and John Watson resumed their life on Baker Street and are solving crimes together. Andrew Scott who played James Moriarty or the most cold-hearted villain of all time when asked about the return of Sherlock mentioned that it was an impossible thing to happen but the probability is minimal.
Martin Freeman or John Watson when asked the same question said that the last episode of Sherlock was like a semicolon or as if it was a pause. Sian Brooke who played Eurus, Sherlock's sister, mentioned that she did not know anything about that but, if another season does come back she would be glad to be a part of it. Mark Gatiss mentioned that there have been no serious discussions as such for the comeback of the series but it is not an impossible thing to do.
Benedict Cumberbatch's career rather took a fast flight ever since he played the role of Sherlock which has been a huge success and has been one of the best portrayals so far. Cumberbatch is now very much committed to playing Doctor Strange in the MCU. But, this does not put an end to the question of Sherlock coming back.
