Bi-weekly lockdown till 31st August for West Bengal, except for the weekend of Id-Ul-Zuha
Due to the increasing cases of coronavirus, West Bengal CM Mamta Bannerjee announced a bi-weekly lockdown till 31 August 2020. This lockdown will be lifted for the upcoming weekend on the account of Id-Ul-Juha.
The corona cases in West Bengal are now increasing at an alarming rate. In such a drastic situation, CM Mamta Bannerjee has extended the lockdown in West Bengal till 31 August 2020. She announced this news on Monday 27 July 2020. However, the weekend of Id-Ul-Juha will be exempted from this lockdown rule. She also requested the Muslim community that they practice social distancing on the day of their festival and celebrate in their homes.
West Bengal has 60,830 cases of COVID-19 out of which 19,502 are currently active. So far 1,411 people have died and 39,917 have recovered from this deadly virus
