BJP Bengal Chief proclaims “Corona is gone”

In a strange claim, West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party President Dilip Ghosh proclaims that ‘corona is gone’ and the Mamata-led-state Government is imposing unnecessary lockdowns for the sole purpose of blocking BJP rallies ahead of the elections that are due next year.
With the onset of Bengal elections, bizarre claims are being made by the state’s BJP unit. Earlier this week, West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh said that the global pandemic is “gone” in front of a jam-packed public rally in West Bengal’s Hooghly district.
Interestingly, Ghosh’s remarks came on a day when West Bengal reported over 3,000 COVID-19 positive cases and 41 fatalities. Anuj Sharma, Kolkata’s Police Commissioner, also tested positive for corona as the tally climbed to 1,93,175 on the same day. The BJP President has turned a blind eye to increasing COVID fatalities as India registered a record 96,551 coronavirus cases in 24 hours taking the total number of infections to over 45.62 lakh on Friday.
In a much controversial statement, Ghosh mentioned that ‘TMC workers of Mamata’ are scared of BJP and they are doing gimmicks to stop BJP from organizing rallies in Bengal. Ironically, PM Narendra Modi has insisted on following lockdown protocols and someone from his party has completely discarded the hazard. Last year, Ghosh had made some absurd claims of desi cow's milk containing gold, and therefore "its milk is golden in colour".
