Kangana Ranaut Mumbai house demolished, actor hits back

The tiff between Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and Maharashtra's ruling party, Shiv Sena has turned into an ugly fight with the BMC's latest move to demolish the actor's home.
Ms. Ranaut's house in the Pali hill area of Mumbai was demolished in the early hours of Wednesday, sometime after the BMC served a second notice to the actor regarding the civic body's action. Ms. Ranaut was on her way to Mumbai from Himachal Pradesh while the demolition took place.
The first notice by BMC was served on Tuesday under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, citing the illegality of construction and erection of building at unauthorised premises. The Bombay HC stayed the demolition process the following day in a virtual hearing of the petition filed by Ms. Ranaut against the BMC's notice.
Soon after the demolition, Ms. Ranaut shared pictures of her house and office, now in shambles. She released a video statement and called on the civic body for targeting an actor's bungalow instead of focusing on the city's poor road conditions. She also lashed out at Maha CM Uddhav Thackeray. Meanwhile, BJP and Karni Sena leaders came out in support of the actor.
