Marijuana ingredients help reduce lung damage from coronavirus! Know more.

New York: After announcing earlier this summer that marijuana ingredients like cannabidiol, or CBD, might bring down the cytokine storm and excessive lung inflammation linked to coronavirus deaths. Scientists have found out how this process works. Cannabidiol seems to lessen the cytokine storm that harms the lungs by validating an increase in levels of a natural peptide called apelin, says a recent study printed in the Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. Apelin is well known for its power of reducing inflammation and its levels are absolutely reduced in the face of the cytokine storm. Apelin levels go way down with the viral infection, which has killed millions of people over the world. But cannabidiol rapidly helps to temper those levels along with lung function.
If blood levels of the peptide drop to zero the CBD is capable of increasing it 20 times and can bring it back to a normal level. Apelin is a common peptide made by cells in the heart, blood, fat tissue, and brain. It is a major regulator that brings both the blood pressure and inflammation down in control. CBD reduces excessive lung inflammation, enabling improvements in lung function, healthier oxygen levels, and repairs some of the structural damages to the lungs that are best with the adult respiratory adult syndrome (ARDS).
