Netflix cancels two more shows because of COVID budget slashing

In continuation of what seems to be a conscious budgetary call, Netflix has announced the cancellation of its shows, The Society and comedy-drama, I'm Not Okay With This. The Society had earlier been renewed for another season and production for the same had also been started. However, keeping in view the financial constraints and the fairly large cast of the show, the show was pulled back in a sudden move. Show lead Kathryn Newton posted a picture with her castmates from the show and referred to the decision as a "gut-punch".
Alongside, I'm Not Okay With This, a show about a teenage girl steering through high school shenanigans, personal complexities and her newfound superpowers, was also cancelled. Both the shows had received rave reviews in their first seasons. Several shows have been cancelled by Netflix since some time, because of compensating for budget increases and higher production costs resultant of the COVID-19 pandemic.
