Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi along with the Congress party had made their opinions clear on 'The Hathras case'. The leaders were also on their way to meet the victim's family.
Hathras case is one of the most terrifying cases this nation has witnessed. This case has left the ability of UP government and Police with a question mark. Everyone in the nation is furious and the leaders of the congress party like Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are one of them. Hathras case is not only about the rights of women safety but it is also a question of how the law is being executed or followed by the citizens. These leaders were on their way to Hathras to meet the family of the victim who was just 19 years old Dalit girl and took her last breath on Tuesday. Uttar Pradesh police stopped their group on Yamuna expressway highway on Thursday. On his arrest, Rahul Gandhi questioned the police officer about under which law they stopped him when he just wanted to walk to the Hathras village where he can meet the family of the victim.
Officer answered the question and said Section 188 of the IPC has been violated which is 'not obeying the orders promulgated by the government during the pandemic'. Congress party informed about the arrest via Twitter. Many leaders of the Congress party were not happy with the action of the UP police and they presented their views by tweeting. Congress leader Randeep Surjewala compared the situation with one of the sayings by Lala Lajpat Rai and concluded that every stick which was showered over these leaders convoy will be like the last nail of the coffin of Yogi government. He has tweeted many tweets about the situation on UP border This situation is received many responses from various senior politicians of the party. Later the leaders were released from the brief detention given by UP Police. An FIR has been filed against these leaders.
