Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi which was there to hit the screens on Diwali may now be rescued on Republic Day 2021 after the Central Government gave a green light to reopen the cinema halls from October 15.
Sooryavanshi being plotted on the ground of anti-terrorism may hit the big screens on Republic Day 2021 instead of Diwali as the filmmaker felt it's the ideal time to release the movie. This film will probably be the first big release of 2021 on a big screen. Rohit Shetty and production houses are scrutinizing the Cop Caper over the weekend leading up to Republic days.
Reliance Entertainment group CEO announced the release of Sooryavanshi to be in between January to March, dates are not decided yet. This Rohit Shetty directed movie is one of the Cop times of Rohit starring Katrina Kaif, and Akshay Kumar with Ajay Devgan and Ranveer Singh special appearance being in Rohit's cap films before.
Previously, Sooryavanshi was planned to be released on Diwali and Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer movie '83' to be released on Christmas. But Looking at the present scenario, it doesn't seem practical to release it on the planned dates as some States haven't yet announced the opening of theatre and also less than one month for the movie promotion.
According to the guidelines of the Unlock 5 issued on September 30, Central Government has given green signals to open cinema Halls from October 15 with 50% of sitting capacity, honour now the decisions are on states. Since some of the Bollywood films are releasing on OTT platforms because of lockdown '83' and 'Sooryavanshi' stick on its way to hit the big screens post lockdown.
