The "Queen" of Bollywood is being called out for her fear of losing her place in headlines!

By Swetaleena Mishra

An alumna of Film and Television Institute of India of Pune, Shabana Azmi, recently commented on the "Queen" of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut's pounce on Bollywood. Azmi stated that Kangana has started believing in myth.

Azmi credibly called Kangana's pounce on Bollywood "outrageous" and said she has started believing in myths. She also said that Kangana fears the day she will no longer be in the headlines and advised her to do what she is best at, that is acting.

Kangana has always successfully managed to be in the spotlights and to be in the headlines for her comments on the afflictions of Bollywood, nepotism and drug use. Shabana Azmi in a recent interview responded to Kangana's statement and said, "Kangana has started believing in her myth. She says she taught feminism to the film industry, she taught it nationalism. I am glad she spelt that out because nobody had noticed! I think she fears the day when she will no longer be in the headlines and so has to keep making outrageous statements to stay in the news. Poor girl, why doesn't she just do what she is best at, which is acting."

She even questioned, "There are many socially committed outspoken people too, does the entire industry gets bathed in a holo because of them?" Azmi ostensibly said that the film industry is a "sitting duck" and levelling pernicious proclamations is a part of "Systematic campaign to divert attention from the real issues." She also affirmed that the case has gone from 'Justice for Sushant' to 'Drug Abusers in Bollywood'. While talking about SSR's death case she also voiced that mental health is a serious issue. Instead of focusing on that, sensationalism is at play.

Responding to this, Kangana's sister Rangoli Chandel took it to her Instagram handle and catechize the different sets of rules for them. She posted a story on Instagram and questioned Azmi and her husband, "Here comes the suicide gang! Dear Shabana Ji I have a few questions for you and your husband. Why don't you both also stick to your respective acting and poetry? Why do you guys actively participate in anti-India politics? To remain in headlines? Or you feel certain issues? If your anti-India agendas are genuine then why can't her pro-India agendas be genuine as well? Why different rules for her and different for you?" Different dimensions are yet to be disclosed in the death case of Sushant.
