These famous artists were honoured in the 2020 Billboard Music Awards! Know more.

The Billboard Music Awards 2020 which was supposed to be held in April was postponed because of the pandemic situation due to which nominees in 55 categories may feel dated.

The American singer, songwriter, record producer and rapper, Austin Richard Post, professionally known as Post Malone with 16 nominations won nine honours in the 2020 Billboard Music Awards. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the viewers. American singer, actor, producer and theatre director John Roger Stephens, professionally known as John legend dedicated an ardent performance to his wife Chrissy Teigen. With a grief-stricken voice, Legend told his viewers, "this is for Chrissy" before singing "Never Break". This performance cane two weeks after Chrissy announced she had a miscarriage and she and Legend drove home from the hospital with no baby.

This whole three-hour show with few pre-taped videos was relayed on NBC while all the other musicians performed in the empty Dolby theatre in Los Angeles. The award show was hosted by Kelly Clarkson. After Melone winning the biggest honour of the show, Clarkson announced eight more trophies for the hitmaker. Malone was overwhelmed and shared his heartfelt love and gratitude to the viewers.

Following Melone, American singer, songwriter and Grammy Awardee, Billie Eilish became the top female artist and top Billboard 200 album for "When We All Asleep, Where Do We Go?". This young female artist suggested fans to vote, wear masks and wash their hands. Not only she but the other artists like American Singer, Khalid and Lizzo gave a message to the viewers to vote and how much their voice matters if raised now. Singer, rapper, songwriter and flautist Lizzo gave an inspiring speech suggesting fans not to change themselves to meet society's standards.

Other winners like an American rapper, singer and songwriter, Montero Lamar Hill, professionally known as Lil Nas X received the Top 100 Songs for the record-setting " Old Town Road" for most weeks at No.1. Following him, the American singer and songwriter, Luke Albert Combs, professionally known as Luke Combs who was named top country artist offered buoyant words to the viewers, fans and crew members working in the award show.

Cher invited Garth Brooks, who is the only artist to have his all nine albums sell more than 10million units each and reached a diamond status and the country star over the stage with a warm greeting and denoting him as a friend and a true music legend. He performed a medley of his hits. Other performers like Khalid, BTS, Alicia Keys, En Vogue, Demi Lovato, Doja Cat, Bad Bunny, Kane Brown, Swae Lee and others performed their big hits.

Guitar rock legend Van Halen who passed away last week was also honoured and played a clip of his Billboard award 2015. Rapper and activist Killer Mike was honoured with the Change Maker Award. Clarkson was joined by drummer Sheila E. and Cappella group Pentatonix to kick off the show singing Steve Winwood's "Higher Love" which was a dance hit last year.

There were many nominees and tough contenders, for example, all five nominees for the main song award we're nominated for Grammys earlier and nominees for top Billboard 300 album even included Ariana Grande's "Thank You" and Swift's "Lover". Some others we're big contenders at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards like Lis Nas X's " Old Town Road" and Lizzo's "Truth Hurts".
