The entertainment industry has been having unprecedented difficulties ever since the possibility of a drug angle to actor Sushant Singh Rajput's demise has been uncovered.
In a remarkable turn of events, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjinder Sirsa filed a complaint against director/producer Karan Johar and top Bollywood actors including Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal among others, with Narcotics Control Bureau headquarters at New Delhi, for allegedly organising a "drug party" in 2019. The complaint has been forwarded to the Bureau's Mumbai branch for further investigation.
Mr. Sirsa had filed a complaint with the Mumbai police last year after a video of the mentioned party surfaced on the internet. The SAD Chief talked to DG NCB, Rakesh Asthana and discussed the need to investigate the matter.
In an interview with the Republic, Mr. Sirsa asked the entertainment industry to cooperate with the NCB and throw the "black sheep" out. He has also said that he would move the court against Mumbai police.
The filed complaint has demanded a probe into a party organised by Director/producer Karan Johar in July of 2019, for illegal use of drugs in the same. A video of the party was posted by Mr. Johar on his social media handle, with Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Zoya Akhtar, Vicky Kaushal, Ayan Mukerji, Natasha Dalal, Ranbir Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor appearing in the same.
