Farm Bill has been a very controversial subject over the past few weeks. These bills have some major advantages which can be helpful for our country in the long run.
On 16 October 2020, PM addressed the citizens on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the food and agriculture organization. This is a special organization that moves forward to defeat hunger. Prime Minister Modi has presented the honour and showed the power of relation of FAO and India holds by releasing a commemorative coin of Rs 75. The backside of the coin has FAO engraved on the tops inside the sun, the coin also includes a lotus and wheat crops imprint with a slogan 'Sahi Poshan Desh Roshan' which means 'right nutrition, bright nation'.
As the Prime Minister said after releasing the coin MSP and government procurement are an important part of food security in the nation. It must continue to function with better facilities scientifically and the government committed towards this. He also added that the government is investing in boosting the infrastructure of agriculture in the last 6 years.
He further mentioned the relation between FAO and India that it is a historic association with FAO.FAO has also helped to make the vulnerable masses and classes stronger nutritionally and economically. As we are talking about Agriculture last month a new reform was initiated in Farm Bills which received a huge disagreement from people of different parties and citizens. Now people have started to learn about these bills carefully. Some major economists are saying that these bills are going in the right direction and India may lead to become a food export Powerhouse due to these bills. Still, people are waiting for how the bills will get applied and to know how beneficial it is.
